Atiku drags Tinubu for seeking US attention

The People Democratic Party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has come down hard on Bola Tinubu, president-elect, saying it is disgusting that the President-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is lobbying the United States for an endorsement. Not only that, Tinubu and his handlers are allegedly begging the United States for a congratulatory vmessage, according to Atiku. “It is a disgraceful thing for the party to descend too low begging the western power to recognise Tinubu,” he said.
Atiku made the statement through his Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu. It was also alleged that the Director of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Femi Fani Kayode, had earlier called on US President Joe Biden to congratulate Tinubu since the US State Department had sent its congratulatory message. The APC director sees a need for the US president to voice out as both nations shared some historic relationship. “After being the beneficiary of the worst and most fraudulent election in the history of Nigeria, Tinubu and his ilk are now running from pillar to post, begging Western powers to recognise Tinubu. This is the height of desperation,” Shaibu said.
